2016 Campaign Theme is #PledgeforParity
International Women's Day is held annually on March 8th to celebrate women's achievements throughout history and across nations. IWD has been observed since the early 1900's. No one government, corporation, network or group is responsible for International Women's Day. "The story of women's struggles for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights," says feminist, journalist, and social and political activist Gloria Steinem. The unfortunate fact, is that women are still not paid equally to that of their male counterparts. Women are still not present in equal numbers in business or politics. What can you do to take action? Pledge to take a concrete step to achieve gender parity. Help women and girls achieve their goals, call for gender balance leadership, respect, value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or root out workplace bias. Each of us can help to advance gender parity.
